The Casio Exilim EX-F1 is a sort of time machine. It's a camera that lets you capture pictures you missed. They call it the next generation of digital cameras and I can see why. With all the features on cameras these days, I hear from a lot of moms how it's hard to figure out which ones to use. I also hear how it's hard to figure out how to actually use the features they want – such as Face Detection for family portraits; or WiFi connectivity for beaming your photos to a computer or sending straight to the Internet for sharing.
The features on the new innovative Casio Exilim EX-F1 high-speed digital camera though are definitely worth taking a look at. This stuff is new, different, and will definitely make a difference in your photos.
The Exilim EX-F1 is a totally new type of digital camera that can capture pictures at incredible speeds while offering imaging functions never before available. That, in itself, is very cool since it's something completely new! This new concept in digital cameras lets you shoot photographs at such a high rate of speed that you can capture every moment of a moving subject, such as when photographing your kids playing soccer or jumping from the high dive, for example. Then, when you're done letting the camera snap all those photos, you can go back and choose the one with the best expression or best "moment of glory" for your son or daughter.
You may think that sounds familiar, but trust me this is something new. You even can choose to keep a picture that happened before you pressed the shutter, or after. How many times have you said to yourself, "I just missed it!"? Well, you shouldn't have to say that again with the Exilim EX-F1.
When you use the still image burst mode, you can shoot at an ultra fast 60 frames, or pictures, per second. What does that mean to us moms? You can shoot up to 60 pictures at once and pick the one or ones you like and trash the rest. Never miss another great kid moment, or the moment of impact when your kid finally connects with the baseball for their first home run, kicks the winning soccer goal, or dives into the pool to take first place in their swim meet.
All of these moments that were hard to catch before are now nearly impossible to miss with this camera.
OK, so if you think this camera is cool, check out this feature. You can take, or "record," as they call it, pictures not just at the instant you press the shutter button, but before you press the shutter button! Yes, you heard me right, this camera can take pictures that already happened... pictures you missed.
By setting the camera to continuously record up to 60 pictures per second, a maximum of 60 images can be saved in the camera's own buffer memory even before the shutter button is pressed. Even if you press the shutter a little late, you will still be able to catch that vital moment.
Sounds too good to be true doesn't it? It is true though and it is getting great reviews. The EX-F1 was even honored as one of the Top 20 Products at the 2008 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) by Popular Mechanics.
With a $999 price tag, it's definitely an investment, but if you never miss another great moment, it just might be one worth making.
